John Gordon Frierson

Dr. Frierson is a native of New York City. He studied medicine at the Cornell University School of Medicine and, after military service moved to the San Francisco Bay Area to complete his training at the University of California San Francisco. He practiced internal medicine and infectious diseases in the Bay Area and is Clinical Professor Emeritus, Department of Medicine, University of California San Francisco. On retirement, he turned his attention to the history of medicine. He is a member of the Bay Area History of Medicine Society and writes a monthly column on line as a function of the Society.
